I had the thought yesterday that there needs to be a blog about girls who are changing the world. A blog where a different girl (of ANY age) can be showcased every week for her efforts. They are the real heroes after all. I feel that people who are doing their best to change lives and create positive change should be the real celebrities. They are the ones who deserve to be celebrated!
Then I thought, wait, do I have the time to start ANOTHER blog?! This idea is too important to not go through with… The ‘Girls Who Are Changing The World’ Blog NEEDS to exist. So, after an incredibly productive talk with east coast represent-er/member of the LIP Board, Noelle, the idea to incorporate that blog into this one was born!
‘Girls Who Are Changing The World’ is now going to be a permanent Friday feature on the Love Infinitely Blog! Each week we’ll showcase an inspiring girl, either that we know or just admire, who is doing something amazing to change the world! Each one of us contributors will get to take turns gushing over incredible ladies who deserve some major recognition for what they are doing. Not only that but we’d like to hear from YOU! Are you a girl changing the world or do you know someone who is? Send the info our way, we’d love to learn more and showcase them! Send your nominations to: loveinfinitelyproject@gmail.com
Now, just off the top of my head and NOT including the awesome LIP Team, I can think of 10 girls I want to tell the world about! But I will have to save each one of them for a future blog. Instead, I’ll tell you about the amazing 13-year-old girl who inspired this movement, Ivy Collins. You’ve already heard about her from her mom Liz, but a few weeks ago I attended the Animal Rights National Conference and heard politician and activist Andrew Kirschner (talk about a great man who is changing the world!) give a speech on this girl! (Please watch the speech, here!) The whole room was moved to tears as he spoke about her courage to stand up for those who have no voice. Even thinking about it now I get chills! To know that someone so young already has the strong conviction to be a compassionate voice and create change is inspiring!
So I would like to thank Ivy for the inspiration and I can’t wait to see how much good she will create for our planet and its inhabitants. And I can’t wait to be able to present the girls who I admire most in future blogs, not to mention all the ones who will be submitted by you! I think we are on to something really good…
