Ok, here it is. The official start to the Love Infinitely Project…
This first trip serves 2 purposes; to do volunteer work and to do research for the non-profit. The research done on this trip will be essential to organizing future trips for individuals and groups. It will help me plan out the last details of what the Love Infinitely Project will be doing from here on out. Things like, what volunteers will need to know, have, bring, etc., when going out on a trip like this one. I will be keeping meticulous notes throughout the entire trip.
The second purpose of course is to give. I am so excited to be doing the work I will be doing. I know it won’t be easy, I know there will be difficulties, but I know it will be worth it. I can’t wait to start this nearly 2 month global adventure. And I will be taking you with me! I will be sharing my adventures HERE, on this blog, every week. More if possible! I will tell stories, post pictures and create videos…
I can’t wait to show you where I am headed:
The Elephant Nature Park ~ Chiang Mai, Thailand
“Elephant Nature Park is an elephant rescue and rehabilitation center in Northern Thailand where you can volunteer and visit to help. We have been involved in dozens of rescues to create our thriving elephant herd. The park provides a natural environment for elephants and other animals under our care. Volunteers and visitors contribute to the healing while learning about their lives past and present.”
Kicking off the trip will be a 7-day stay at the ELP. My official title is Elephant Helper. I know it will involve a healthy amount of manual labor, working on different projects with the elephants and projects around the sanctuary. Thanks to great friends who have been through this experience before, I feel ready to take on a week helping elephants.
The Viengping Children’s Home ~Chiang Mai, Thailand
“Viengping Children’s Home cares for more than 600 children who have been abandoned or abused, or whose families cannot support them. Our youngest are newborns, while our oldest are 22 years old.”
After my week with the elephants, I will be headed to this orphanage in the city of Chiang Mai. I have contacted the volunteer coördinator there and I am so excited to be spending all week with the children. I plan on helping out in any way I can, from projects around the home to (hopefully) organizing an outing or two for the kids. I know already that I am going to fall in love with each of them!
Animal Aid Unlimited ~ Udaipur, India
“Animal Aid Unlimited is a US-based 501(c)3 charitable organization that runs a busy animal hospital and shelter in Udaipur, Rajasthan India, where ownerless street animals are rescued, healed, loved, and returned to the neighborhoods from where they came. Animal Aid’s purpose is to both bring relief to suffering animals, and to awaken compassion among people. Showing everyone a path for action is where we begin.”
After Thailand, I will be traveling to India. Udaipur is the city of lakes! Last year I spent a few days there and did some volunteer work at Animal Aid. I was also lucky enough to get to know the wonderful family who owns and runs this sanctuary. I completely fell in love with what Animal Aid does and with the beautiful little souls I met there. I can’t wait to get back and see everyone! I will be spending about 3 weeks there and…
These amazing places and projects are not my only stops, I’ll also be heading out to local schools to drop off donations whenever I can. Part of my idea for the Love Infinitely Project is in addition to sending people off to volunteer work like this, we also will make a monetary donation in the name of our volunteer to the organization. To make the impact as big as possible!
That’s where all of you come in. Many of the outings, activities and programs that I will be involved in will cost money. I don’t want the money to come from the organization but rather I would like to show up at each of these amazing places with a monetary donation. I believe that both showing up and doing the work and donations are equally important. To give back in the biggest way possible, I want to raise as much funds to give to these fabulous organizations!
Our American dollars go a long way in both countries. $20 USD in Thailand is equal to 626 Baht. In India $20 is almost 1,000 Rupees! Even a small donation will make a big difference! The donation page is up here: http://loveinfinitely.bbnow.org/ Though we are awaiting the 501 c3 certification, your donation (by tax time next year) will be tax deductible! You can donate securely on-line or if you prefer to send a check, email: email@example.com for mailing address. Anything you can give would be infinitely appreciated!
However, I also consider it just as much of a donation if you help spread the word. The more people I can reach the bigger the impact this first trip will have and will get the Love Infinitely Project off to a great start!
Infinite Love & Gratitude to you all!
*There are also some surprise stop along the way. You’ll have to keep checking the blog for them!
